G-Scan Aftermarket contains multiple brand software including not only Hyundai and Kia, but also other Japanese, Korean, European, and various local makes. JAPAN DOMESTIC means “Japanese domestic version cars sold in Japan” If you are not testing the secondhand Japanese cars directly imported from Japan, you do not have to select this. INTERNATIONAL includes all regional variations, therefore you are always recommended to select “INTERNATIONAL” all the time if you are not using G-Scan for Japanese domestic cars. [ How to Use ] Can I use G-scan as a J2534 or Pass-Thru device ? G-scan2 with (May/2016) software version supports pass-thru mode for programming the ECU’s of Hyundai & Kia vehicles. Also for the other brands, if the OEM diagnostic software requires a J2534 pass-thru device as the communication module for diagnostic functions, G-scan2 can be used as the standard J2534 communication module. G-scan2 is officially validated for programming Hyundai and Kia vehicles sold in the United States, therefore programming the vehicle ECUs of the other brand or sold outside US have not been validated, therefore not recommended.
