As our software engineering team endeavors to create the best scan tool in the world, our software coverage has been and will be continuously expanded. Hence, general version of software has reached to a point where its memory size exceeds 2 GB from this coming January 2015 update. Yet other region’s such as Iran, Spain, USA, and Australia version of software are slightly under 2 GB, however, they will for sure all be exceeded from May 2015 update.

   In this January 2015 update, among other brands’ updated software, we would like to emphasize that Korean domestic version of Hyundai and Kia software will be included in G-scan. Until now, Korean domestic version of Hyundai and Kia software was supported by only G-scan2. However, as a result of January 2015 update, Korean domestic version of Hyundai and Kia software will be added to G-scan as well. It could be good news for most G-scan users, but at the same time, this might lead some customers into dilemma.
   For customers who purchased G-scan prior to 2013, their SD card’s memory was 2 GB, instead of 4 GB which has been provided as a part of G-scan after 2013.
   From this January 2015 update, when customers with 2 GB SD card try to update general version of software, excluding Iran, Spain, USA, and Australia, they will encounter a notification on their PC Utility screen if they select all software updates. Notification would be following:

-Notification for customers using 2 GB SD card-
If all selected software is to be updated, there is a possibility of failure to copy all software into current SD card. The size of 2 GB SD card would not be sufficient as the total size of updated software exceeds 2 GB. You can either delete rarely or never used software to save memory, or contact your local distributor for purchasing 4 GB SD card.

   As stated in the above message, there are two options for customers with 2 GB SD card if they nevertheless want to update software.
In case for customers whom want to keep using 2 GB SD card, they can still update software but not all of them. As one has to gain has to lose, they would have to delete other rarely or never used brands’ software that is already stored in the SD card. This method is and will be indeed too much hassle in every coming update period. We do not recommend this makeshift update for our customers.
They can uninstall software through our PC Utility program.

Click check box of the desired software. Click Uninstall and Update when you are ready to delete.

When uninstallation is completed, it will display ‘No Data’in the SD Card Version column.

   When updating softwarewith 2 GB SD card, we recommendcustomersto updatesoftwarein a prioritized order that the most frequently used brand’s software would be updated first.In order to prevent any confusion while deleting software to match the size of desiredsoftware, please be advised that the size of the software displayed at the far right column in PC Utility screen is the compressed files’size, not the actual size of the software. It could be much larger when decompressed in the SD card.Therefore, we recommend update software in a prioritized order to update favorable brand’s software first.

   Last but simple and convenient method would be that customers upgrade their SD card to 4 GB. Then they do not have to worry about the memory capacity and freely update their software in every coming update period. If customers are willing to purchase 4GB SD card, please note that GIT part number for the 4 GB SD card is A2MDT2SD140.

   When using PC Utility to update Korean domestic version of Hyundai and Kia software in G-scan, some customers would confuse that there is only HYUNDAI/KIA section as shown in below picture. Once software is updated successfully, there will be HYUNDAI KOREA and KIA KOREA will appear in the G-scan menu.

   Again, as our software coverage will only be getting larger, we highly recommend our customers to purchase 4 GB SD card to enjoy updated software.
